BIOGRAPHY
Design work has always been my relentless passion that pulls me in no matter where I find myself. In every job, in every role, design pulls me towards it, fueling me with undeniable creativity and fervor. It is not just what I do, it is who I am - a relentless and unwavering pursuit of bringing beauty and innovation to life.
I was the first in my family to attend university. Graduating with a B.A. degree in Creative Arts, I immersed myself in the world of visual arts, music, performing arts, and teaching. It was a transformative experience that ignited my passion for design further. I was able to share my expertise in teaching both in my home state of California and across the globe, spending invaluable years in Asia (China, Korea, and Japan) where I not only honed my teaching skills but also picked up new languages along the way.
Since then, I have poured my heart into achieving graphic design excellence, dedicating myself to honing my skills through rigorous programs at Foothill College and Seattle Central Creative Academy. I am passionately seeking opportunities for freelance work, eager to collaborate with a design agency, or contribute to a company's in-house design department. My dedication and drive make me the perfect candidate for your design needs.
My greatest influence was my grandfather. As a first-generation Mexican American of Indigenous descent during the Great Depression, he faced countless challenges with unwavering determination. Despite only receiving a grammar school education, he taught himself to read and write, draw and paint, and play the violin. His creativity knew no bounds, as he even designed and built his own home in central California.
But his impact on me went beyond his artistic talents. He was a fearless activist, standing alongside Cesar Chavez in the United Farmworkers Union and bringing me along on protest marches. His selflessness and compassion for others served as a moral compass that guides me to this day. My grandfather's passion and resilience in the face of adversity continue to drive me toward self-improvement for the benefit of myself and others, inspiring me to push through any obstacles that come my way.
